Last updated: Oct. 24, 2026 DESCRIPTION The two donor tables on The landlord lobby card, one row per donor and recipient: Minneapolis gifts dated 2024 and 2025 to the campaigns of Mayor Frey and the 13 sitting council members (74 donors), and Saint Paul donors who gave $250 or more in total to at least one council campaign (their smaller gifts to other campaigns are also shown) from the 2022 to 2025 reports we have (13 donors). We have no saved copy of that report. Ramsey County has taken its online reports down for review until about November 2026 or January 2027 (its pages give both dates). We asked the county for the rest of the reports on Oct. 21, 2026. Copies are available from Ramsey County Elections at 651-266-2171. METHOD Minneapolis: we kept gifts dated Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2025 to the 14 campaigns, dropped balance and rollover lines, and counted a gift only when the donor listed a real estate employer or occupation. Gifts were grouped by firm when the employer matched a firm on our list; some gifts that listed only a job such as "realtor" or "developer" were matched to a firm by the donor's name. Donors with less than $500 combined are left out, except business-lobby committees and staff. Couples' joint gifts count as one gift. Dates and gift counts come from the same export. Saint Paul: we read each report's itemized gifts and kept donors from real estate, development, management and business lobbies who gave $250 or more in total to at least one council campaign in the reports we have; their smaller gifts to other campaigns are also shown, so some cells are under $250. One name can belong to different people: gifts were matched to a donor only when the address and employer on the report agree. Types are based on the occupation and employer donors listed. Types: see twin-cities-landlord-lobby-donations-types.csv for each type code, the filter and row labels on the page, and how donors were assigned. COLUMNS See twin-cities-landlord-lobby-donations-dictionary.csv. Donor types: twin-cities-landlord-lobby-donations-types.csv and twin-cities-landlord-lobby-donations-types-dictionary.csv. CORRECTIONS Oct. 24, 2026: Peter Vang's gifts to Yang were shown as $650. That total combined gifts from two different donors with the same name (different addresses and employers). The realtor the page names gave $450 ($100 and $150 in 2022, $100 in 2023 and $100 in 2024); the other donor's $200 gift is below the threshold and isn't shown. Yang's column total changed from $4,375 to $4,175. Oct. 24, 2026: Tong Khang, who listed "Real Estate" and "Self-Employed," moved from Agents and brokers to a new Saint Paul filter, Other real estate, to match the label. LIMITS Saint Paul is incomplete: we don't yet have every report for every council member, including most of Noecker's and Jost's. Kim and Johnson had no real estate donors at this level in the reports we read. The list may miss donors whose employer didn't make the connection clear. Relatives who listed other jobs, or "retired," aren't counted. A gift isn't a vote, and several recipients voted against what landlord groups asked for. The raw Minneapolis export and the Saint Paul reports aren't included because they list private donors' home addresses, employers and other details. Get them from the sources above. Individuals are named here only where the page already names them; other individual gifts appear only inside firm totals.
